My client advertised for a vacant position within his company. He received responses from interested people. Great! He arranged for after hours interviews as these people were not in a position to interview during the normal working day.
So three of us arranged to be there for a 5.30pm and a 6.30pm interview. Neither applicant showed up. One never called and the other left a belated message on voicemail to say that she could not come.
Almost 2 hours of our time was wasted (6 man hours) because people did not have the decency to make sure that we recived notification that they were not coming. A last minute voicemail to me does not count.
It is hard enough trying to find staff. It takes time to get the advert out, time to sift through CV's and then to arrange interviews.
To all potential interviewee's, if you have arranged an interview please turn up or give at least a days notice that you wont be attending. Everybody's time is precious. Be considerate.
